
Emily graduated with honors from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA and
went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School
of law. While in law school Emily was a part of the National Child Welfare
and Adoption Moot Court team where she received second runner up overall
best oralist.
Emily has been a licensed practicing attorney since 2008 and has worked extensively in both Miami and Montgomery Counties as an assistant county prosecutor. Emily has extensive litigation experience having tried numerous cases in Common Pleas Court and has also successfully argued before the Second District Court of Appeals. Emily’s litigation experience has given her the ability to navigate through complex legal issues to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.
Emily also served as the Supervising Attorney of the Child Abuse Bureau in Montgomery County. She has extensive experience working with Children’s Services, Dayton Children’s Hospital, local law enforcement agencies and is a Certified Forensic Interviewer. She joins the legal team at Gounaris Abboud, LPA as team leader for our family law practice.
Emily is also a Certified Legal Instructor and teaches at Edison Community College.
